She lost more than a baby.

When a woman loses her baby, she loses so much more. While the loss of her child is certainly her deepest grief, it is not all she may be grieving.

Future milestones and life celebrations without her baby. Confidence and optimism. Friendships. Focus. The ability to walk into social situations without any inhibitions. Ease with small talk. Trust in other people. Perspective. Sleep.

Your child isn’t the only thing you lost. As we turn to Jesus with our cries of lament, we can grieve the secondary losses knowing that He was called a man of many sorrows.

What secondary losses are you grieving?
