The grave holds no power

“Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling…” II Corinthians 5:2

As people created in God’s image, we have the longing for eternity embedded into our hearts--The tension of the grave is real. We’re supposed to feel uncomfortable, devastated, and even appalled at the concept of the grave. Longing for the solution is exactly where we’re supposed to be. Longing for the solution is what draws us to Christ and fills our hearts with the hope of heaven.

Because of Christ’s resurrection, we can face the trials and sufferings of this life with hope because we know that full restoration is waiting for us just outside of this life--not because of anything we have done or could do, but solely because Jesus died on the cross for our sins and He rose again to demonstrate His eternal power and His unconditional love for us. He is the only one worthy of our praise and worship. He defeated the grave, and because of that, the grave holds no power over us. The grave holds no power over our children.

What an amazing comfort.
